NPC Dialogue β€” The Silph Brothers

Clearance gate dialogue for Edmund and Edmond. Both characters grant access at each clearance milestone β€” Edmund from the metrics/reporting side, Edmond from logistics.

Edmund β€” cannot read a room, measures everything, clipboard always present. Edmond β€” weirdly proud of logistics, knows where every crate is, has no idea what’s in them.

⚠️ Clearance 0 dialogue is retained here for reference but does not fire in-game.

Introduction β€” First Meeting (New Silph Town, start of C2)

The player encounters both brothers standing outside the harbor depot. They speak in sequence, occasionally talking over or correcting each other. The quest is handed off naturally at the end.

text Text_Edmund_Intro {
    "Ah β€” you're the one who cleared the ranger certification this morning.
    I have the data right here. Solid numbers. I'm Edmund. Expedition metrics
    and performance reporting. If something on this island can be measured,
    I'm measuring it."
}

text Text_Edmond_Intro {
    "And I'm Edmond. Procurement and logistics. If something on this island
    needs moving, storing, or signing for β€” that's me. We're the Silph Co.
    liaison team. Between the two of us, we know everything that happens
    on this island."
}

text Text_Edmund_Intro2 {
    "Everything that can be quantified."
}

text Text_Edmond_Intro2 {
    "Everything that gets shipped."
}

text Text_Edmund_Intro3 {
    "Which is most things."
}

text Text_Edmond_Intro3 {
    "Which is all things, really. You'll want to stay on our good side.
    Clearance upgrades, facility access, supply requisitions β€” it all
    goes through us."
}

text Text_Edmund_Intro4 {
    "Through me, technically, for the clearances."
}

text Text_Edmond_Intro4 {
    "Through me for everything physical. Which is most of it. Anyway β€”
    since you're here. I have a situation."
}

text Text_Edmond_QuestSetup {
    "There's a crate in the depot that doesn't match any manifest I have.
    Wrong serial number, no origin stamp, materials I can't identify. It
    came off a supply run but nobody can tell me which one. I'd go in and
    check it myself, but the coastal PokΓ©mon around the warehouse have been
    acting up β€” too aggressive to get near safely."
}

text Text_Edmund_QuestSetup {
    "I've been logging a 34% increase in reported PokΓ©mon disruptions along
    the coastal depot zone over the past week. Statistically abnormal."
}

text Text_Edmond_QuestSetup2 {
    "Yes. What he said. The point is β€” you're a certified trainer, the
    crate's in there, and I need it identified and logged before I can
    close out this week's manifest. It's probably nothing. Legacy
    infrastructure, misrouted shipment, that sort of thing. But it's
    sitting in my inventory as 'unknown' and I can't stand an unknown."
}

text Text_Edmund_QuestSetup2 {
    "Documented resolution of outstanding anomalies improves overall
    expedition performance scores. This benefits everyone."
}

text Text_Edmond_QuestSetup3 {
    "He means yes, please go look at the crate."
}

Edmund

text Text_Edmund_Clearance0 {
    // NOT IN GAME
    "No expedition credentials on file. I can't log you without a reference number.
    Come back when you're in the system."
}

text Text_Edmund_Clearance1 {
    "You passed the ranger certification β€” that's the baseline, but it's
    documented. I've opened a file on you. Try not to give me anything unusual to
    put in it."
}

text Text_Edmund_Clearance2 {
    "The warehouse incident has been logged and closed β€” 'anomalous legacy item,
    filed for review.' The expedition output metrics are looking clean. That's
    all I ask."
}

text Text_Edmund_Clearance3 {
    "The tunnel section is back on the route map. I had a data gap there for
    about six hours β€” something corrupted the checkpoint logs. IT says it was
    interference. I've noted it as an anomaly and moved on."
}

text Text_Edmund_Clearance4 {
    "The power plant incident is filed. I'll be honest β€” the data corruption from
    that Glitch spike set my terminal back two days. Two days. The quarterly report
    is going to have a footnote. I do not enjoy footnotes."
}

text Text_Edmund_Clearance5 {
    "Forest survey data received. I've updated the expedition progress tracker β€”
    we're ahead of the projected milestone schedule, which almost makes up for
    the plant incident. Almost."
}

text Text_Edmund_Clearance6 {
    "I was in that lab facility earlier looking for a missing crate. Never found
    it. The whole inventory section down there is a mess β€” serial numbers I don't
    recognise, equipment that doesn't match any Silph Co. catalogue I have on
    file. I've logged it as a procurement irregularity. Edmond's problem, really."
}

text Text_Edmund_Clearance7 {
    "I have no data from inside the ruins. Nothing. The terminals go dead the
    moment you cross the threshold β€” I checked three times. I've left the field
    blank in the report and written 'signal interference.' I don't love a blank
    field."
}

text Text_Edmund_Clearance8 {
    "I have your complete performance record here and the numbers are... genuinely
    the best I've logged on this expedition. I was going to say something about
    the quarterly review, but the screens just went out. All of them. That's
    probably fine."
}

Edmond

text Text_Edmond_Clearance0 {
    // NOT IN GAME
    "No credentials, no access. Expedition logistics are locked down tight.
    I know where everything on this island is. I'd like to keep it that way."
}

text Text_Edmond_Clearance1 {
    "Welcome aboard. I can get you into the outer depot β€” one access lane. Don't
    touch the manifests, they're in a very specific order that only makes sense
    to me."
}

text Text_Edmond_Clearance2 {
    "Good timing β€” I just finished logging that mystery crate from the warehouse.
    Filed it under 'miscellaneous legacy infrastructure.' No origin stamp, no
    Silph Co. serial number, materials I couldn't identify. Honestly not my
    problem once it's filed. Secondary supply routes are yours."
}

text Text_Edmond_Clearance3 {
    "The tunnel's back on my delivery schedule β€” had to reroute two crate
    transfers while it was out. Found some old cabling in there I couldn't
    identify either. Different gauge, different fitting standard. Not Silph Co.
    equipment. Probably legacy infrastructure again. Staging area access granted."
}

text Text_Edmond_Clearance4 {
    "The power plant situation disrupted three active shipment routes β€” I had to
    hold four pallets in the depot for two days. There were already some crates
    in that lower section that weren't on any manifest I have. I flagged it.
    Nobody got back to me. Shipment schedule access is yours."
}

text Text_Edmond_Clearance5 {
    "Forest survey's done β€” I had supply drops staged along those routes, good
    to know they're clear. Full logistics access from here. Fair warning: some
    of the interior supply lines have receiving notes I can't account for.
    Someone's been signing off on deliveries without using the standard codes."
}

text Text_Edmond_Clearance6 {
    "That old lab facility β€” I've been in every section of it. Delivery runs,
    inspection checks, the lot. There are rooms down there I couldn't get
    manifests for no matter how many times I asked. Helix Corp told me
    'restricted procurement.' Fine. Full procurement oversight is yours. The
    inventory gets strange at this level, just so you know."
}

text Text_Edmond_Clearance7 {
    "Listen β€” the main depot has a routing anomaly I've been trying to resolve
    for weeks. Shipments go in, logged correctly, and then just... don't appear
    on the outbound records. They're not lost. I know where they are. I just
    can't explain where they came from originally. It's probably a legacy
    filing thing."
}

text Text_Edmond_Clearance8 {
    "Every route, every manifest, every crate location on the island β€” it's all
    yours. I can tell you exactly where all of it is. I still have no idea what
    most of it actually is, but I know where it is. That's my job. Oh β€” the
    main depot lights just went out. And the secondary depot. And the... hm."
}
